1. CDM project profiles
Clean Development Mechanism, or CDM, is one of the flexible compliance mechanisms introduced by the “Kyoto Protocol”. CDM allows Annex 1 and non-Annex 1 covenanters joint carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emission reduction projects. For the developed countries, CDM provides a flexible compliance mechanism. Developing countries can get financial assistance and advanced technology by virtue of CDM. However, CDM is only one of the means for global emission reduction and the transfer of technology. Develop countries need to make more efforts to realize emission reduction and the transfer of technology in the literal sense.
2. CDM projects which have been done
Up to August 9th, 2006, National Development and Reform Commission have approved 79 CDM projects. 15 projects had been registered by CDM Council of the United Nations successfully. They are as follows

3. Major Industries and emission reduction technology in which can develop CDM projects
1) Power industry
The main emission reduction technologies include renewable energy generation (hydro, solar, wind tidal and biomass), alternative fuels (natural gas, coal-bed gas generation), geothermal power, and improving the efficiency of electricity generation.
2) City utility
The main emission reduction technologies include Landfill Gas Collection and Utilization, and Sewage methane gas recycling
3) Industrial production (including iron and steel, cement, ceramics, chemical industry)
The main emission reduction technologies include improve the efficiency of energy and raw materials in industrial processes, the emission reduction or recycling of carbon dioxide, and the emission reduction of HFCs, PFCs or SF6.
4) Agriculture
The main emission reduction technologies include product methane gas from manure methane and use the methane
5) Mine
The main emission reduction technology is Coal bed Methane Recovery and Utilization
6) Construction industry
The main emission reduction technologies include Energy-saving buildings and solar photovoltaic, solar thermal and architectural integration (electricity, water, heating and cooling air conditioning).
7) Forestry
The main emission reduction technologies include afforestation and reforestation
